The movie is an example of Farhan Akhtar's unique style of direction. Farhan is getting lot of appreciations for his work. Viewers are also happy with Shahrukh's performance in the movie. The script of the original Don released in the year 1978 was written by Javed Akhtar Sahab and now the script has been rewritten by him for his son Farhan this time. The Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy music Combo has not done any great wonders, this time there is no appeciation for them. The action stunts given by Shahrukh Khan are wonderful and are appraised as well.Shahrukh fans are very happy with his performance and we are getting mixed response from rest of the viewers. The only minus point attached to the movie is people are trying to compare Shahrukh's performance with that of Amitabh Bachchan's original performance in the Chandra Barot's Don 1978, and they are finding Shahrukh performance is not upto that mark. Viewers are making comparisons in other areas such as Kareena' performance Vs Helan Ji's performance in the song Yeh Mera Dil . The song Khaike Pan Banaras Wala has not been arranged properly with the script. About the story: Shahrukh is Don in the movie and is managing Drug Business owned by Singhania (Rajesh Khattar). The headquarters of the Drug Mafia are in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia. Indian Police Officer Desilva(Booman Irani) has been asigned the case and he knows if once he succeds to catch Don, he will catch whole of the Gang. Desilva becomes successful in capturing Don and he starts with his master plan to catch all the members of the gang. Suddenly Desilva dies and the secret of Vijay dies with him. Then Vijay escapes and goes to Roma and Jasjit, the only two people who are aware of his secret after Desilva's death. An opinion we are getting from a majority of viewers is that the movie is good no doubt, but the major problem is that Chandra Barot's Don was a masterpiece and viwers are getting an opportunity to compare Amitabh or Shahrukh who is better. And they have found Amitabh Bachchan is better and Shahrukh's acting is not upto that mark. The songs of the original movie has been copied and it has been found the original songs were awesome. Joe Jennings the hollywood fight director for the movies Charlie's Angels , XXX , and Air Force One has guided Shahrukh Khan for performings stunts in the movie. Priyanka Chopra playing Roma in the movie has taken special training for Martial Arts and has also done her on her own without any duplicate. Farhan Akhtar's remake of Don is a perfect combination of stylish cinematography and Fahan's innovation. Farhan says he won't ever try to compare his remake of Don with the original Don, as Chandra Barot's Don is original work and his favaourite movie.
